The purpose
Filling the hole created by removing points.
This time, I will explain using the easy-to-understand example of removing half of a torus.

This is a half-torus with points removed.
A circular hole is visible.
This page presents two methods for filling it.
Environment
Blender:3.4.1

Fill with Fill
Select target
Select all points that fall on the deleted section.

Fill
Select “Create New Edge/Face from Vertex” from the “Vertex” menu at the top of the screen (or press the F key).

Result
The holes were filled in as follows

Fill using merge
Select target
Select all points corresponding to the deleted cross-section.

Merge
Right-click the screen, select “Merge Vertices,” then “Bundle.”

This state is unnatural, but by additionally selecting points adjacent to the merged point and smoothing them, a more natural look can be achieved, as shown below.
